Coda Clash: View & Discuss “The (R)evolution of Steve Jobs”

Join us for a special Coda Clash presentation. We’ll watch and discuss the Grammy-winning opera The (R)evolution of Steve Jobs. The opera’s score is written by Mason Bates, a Columbia graduate and the CSO’s Mead Composer-in-Residence from 2010 to 2015. The libretto is from Mark Campbell, one of the nation’s finest new contemporary librettists. We’ll watch the first 50 minutes of this one act, 20 scene opera, and break to discuss. Then, we’ll watch the final 50 minutes and complete the evening with another discussion of what we’ve just heard and seen. Come join us for an exploration into a unique opera and production by The Atlanta Opera.

“The opera exists at the intersection of creativity, technology, communication—and, ultimately, the tragedy. Animated by an electro-acoustic soundworld and a non-linear libretto, the opera journeys through the key scenes of Jobs’ life and his early death.”  Description from www.masonbates.com.
